The individual chosen to be our Game Improvement Champion is Lorna Godwin. Lorna and I will be working closely over the next eight weeks and you can track her progress in my newsletter. I would personally like to thank everyone who has contacted me regarding being a volunteer for this initiative. As a thank you I am offering an initial £15 lesson as opposed to our standard price of £22. This offfer will run until the end of May. If you would like to book a session you can contact me here.
Never give up
Birdie, par, birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie. We've all finished a round like this, right?! This was Rickie Fowler's amazing finish at The Players and it just goes to show if you don't let your shoulders drop, you can come from nowhere to win.
What we find with a lot of amateur golfers is that they obsess about their score, especially when chasing Stableford points. If you stay focused and play each shot at a time, a good score will remain within your grasp.
This is a difficult game and if you can learn to accept the odd blip then you'll be better for it. Of course, hitting the odd 243-yard 3-wood to two feet will help, but don't stress if you don't pull this off every time, not even Fowler would have expected a kick-in eagle like he managed to pull off.
However, do request a lesson if there's anything you'd like help on, such as striking fairway woods off the deck like Mr Fowler, do get in touch. You know where we areā¦click here to request a lesson.
